In conjunction with Ace Dillinger Researcher Lori Hyde, I am compiling a biography of Indiana State Police Captain Matt Leach.
Matt Leach will forever be remembered as the policeman who brought Dillinger to the attention of the press in 1933. But as the F.B.I. entered the case, Captain Leach was pushed to the sidelines in a jurisdictional war that left Leach outranked. The animosity that resulted between Leach and the F.B.I. came to a head in 1937 when the Indiana State Police Board fired Leach at the behest of the F.B.I. over a dispute in Leach’s handling of the Brady Gang case.
This book will correct many misconceptions about the fabled Indiana State Police Captain and also, will reveal new information in the Dillinger saga.
With my distinguished co-author, Lori Hyde, I am searching for people who remember Mr. Leach, or who had parents or grandparents who knew him. Please contact this writer if you have information that will help in our research at ellenpoulsen@aol.com.
